The DeWalt DW1169 14-piece Pilot Point Twist Drill Bit Assortment comes with pilot point tips for starts on contact that result in clean, accurate holes. These bits are designed to reduce lock-up on breakthrough and also feature a no-spin shank that eliminates the frustration of bit spinning in the chuck. Other features include a tapered web for greater durability and reduced breaking, and size markings are located above the shank to prevent wearing away. This kit comes with two 1/16-inch, one 5/64-inch, one 3/32-inch, one 7/64-inch, two 1/8-inch, one 9/64-inch, and one 5/32-inch split point drill bits and one 3/16-inch, one 7/32-inch, one 1/4-inch, one 5/16-inch and one 3/8-inch pilot point drill bits, and a secure carrying case.

So far so good. My first assortment of bits in various sizes for my dewalt drill.
The pilot point is great for starting the bit where you want it. These bits work great, I usually buy them from Home Depot but they were cheaper here.

Same problem. You have to be very careful with these bits. They are very difficult to hold back and prevent this from happening. They screw themselves right through the material being drilled instantly without completing the hole. When they break through to the other side of the material being drilled they will screw themselves right down to the chuck and if your hand is near any part of the piece being drilled you can get your fingers smashed. I thought this was a quirk in my first set but when many of them broke I bought a second set.
These are DEWALT - need I say more.I now have a smaller set that fits in the drill box to go with me on smaller projects around the house. I bought these to replace some broken/damaged bits (2) from my larger 64pc set.
